Curriculum Reflection - Science

Our students have engaged with a dynamic and challenging science curriculum this term, deepening their understanding of core concepts.
Year 7 established fundamental knowledge by exploring the building blocks of life (cell structure) and matter (particles and energy).
Meanwhile, Year 8 connected the microscopic to the macroscopic, investigating photosynthesis, the organisation of elements in the periodic table, and the nature of forces.
Year 9 delved into the detailed structure of atoms and the complexity of different cell types.
Our older students focused on complex biological and chemical processes essential for life and industry: Year 10 have studied photosynthesis and respiration, understood how bonding dictates material properties, and explored practical applications of mains electricity.
Finally, Year 11 have studied genetics and inheritance, preparing them thoroughly for their examinations. This term's curriculum has effectively built a strong foundation, connecting concepts across the years to reveal the relevance of science in the world around us.
